Our Core Technologies & Standards

View all Technologies

Block Integrated Trust (BIT)

Brings trusted computing principles to block-level storage, enabling integrity, attestation, and protection of data blocks at the device layer.

Cyber Resilient Technologies (CyRes)

TCG's cyber-resilience technology for protecting persistent code, detecting unexpected states, and recovering platforms to a known trusted state.

Device Identifier Composition Engine (DICE)

Device Identifier Composition Engine establishes a unique cryptographic identity for resource-constrained devices and IoT systems with minimal hardware.

Platform Certificates

TCG's provenance artifacts asserting Roots of Trust, Trusted Building Blocks, and component composition for supply-chain assurance and attestation appraisal.

Reference Integrity Manifest (RIM)

Signed, machine-readable reference measurements used to verify a device boots and runs in its expected, trusted state.

Storage Security

TCG's architecture for interoperable security on trusted storage devices: self-encrypting drives, access control, locking, and Opal, Ruby, and Opalite classes.

TPM Software Stack (TSS)

A consistent software interface that lets applications and operating systems interact with TPM hardware across vendors, architectures, and platforms.

Trusted Platform Module (TPM)

Hardware-based root of trust that securely generates and stores cryptographic keys, attesting to the integrity of the platform it runs on.

TCG recognizes leadership and appoints 2021 Contributed Advisors

Published:
Oct 12, 20262 mins read

Experts from Intel and Toshiba Tec have been recognized for exceptional leadership and service at the recent TCG Members Meeting. The Contributor Advisors for 2022 were also announced, as well as Key Contributors that had been nominated by their peers for their outstanding participation to TCG.

Congratulations to all of the recipients and thank you for your exceptional work.

Award winners

Thomas Bowan of Intel Corporation has been awarded The 2021 Leadership Award for his contributions, which includes leading the development of a new security model, Key Per IO. Bowan has authored proposals, led discussions and has been an overall key driver in the TCG Storage Work Group. He has repeatedly shown great initiative and is considered one of the subject matter experts within the TCG Storage Work Group.

Takafumi Fukushima of Toshiba Tec Corporation has been awarded The Frank Molsberry Distinguished Service Award for his decade of service to the Japanese Regional Forum. This includes active participation in JRF meetings, technical seminars and the annual public workshop. Fukushima’s contribution and expertise has been a major factor in their success as a group.

Key Contributors

This year, the Key Contributors are Jiewen Yao of Intel, Joseph Chen of ULINK Technology and invited expert David Safford.

Yao contributes to the TCG PC Client and Server Work Groups and plays an instrumental role in driving the specifications forward. Specifically, his work across the DMTF and TCG standards bodies to create an industry standard has been outstanding. Yao’s knowledge, ideas and proposals for trusted computing solutions has resulted in his peers successfully nominating him.

Chen successfully represents the Storage Work Group to the Technical Committee, the CPC and the Board. Chen communicates his expertise in an effective and understandable way. For the CPC and the Board, he has single-handedly been pursing the goal of an alternate form of certification for storage devices that do not encrypt user data.

Safford was an early innovator of trusted computing and his contributions to TCG started many years ago. Safford is actively contributing to the Infrastructure Work Group and is currently leading work on key documents.

Contributor Advisors

The elected 2022 Contributor Advisors have been announced. Joseph Chen of ULINK Technology and Joe Pennisi of NVIDIA have been recognized by their peers for their significant participation and efforts to trusted computing, in alignment with TCG’s overall mission.
