TCG Storage Work Group calls for participants
Call For Participation! The TCG Storage Work Group (WG) is starting work to define a new feature set specification, the Hard Cryptographic Purge feature set specification, to enable hardware-based cryptographic erasure to eliminate user data stored on TCG Storage compliant self-encrypting drives (SED).
The Hard Cryptographic Purge feature set will enhance the storage sanitization capabilities of TCG Storage compliant SED technology and provide additional verification mechanisms. This new feature set leverages multiple banks of fuses as part of the management of SED secrets. The Hard Cryptographic Purge feature set is being developed such that it can be used in conjunction with multiple TCG Storage specifications (e.g., Opal, Key Per I/O, and Enterprise).
Part of the effort in the TCG Storage WG will focus on the development of new methods that enable a host interface to cryptographically purge a Storage Device. TCG Storage WG is looking for additional participation from Cloud Service Providers, OEMs, ISV software vendors, etc. to come join the discussions and help contribute to the development of this standards-based interface specification for multi-vendor / multi-architectures interoperability!
Come join us at TCG Storage WG to continue the discussion!
