German IT Summit shows TPM is key element to Industries 4.0
TCG member Infineon with industry partner Deutsche Telekom worked together earlier this month to present solutions for networked products at a German IT summit.
The solutions demonstrated included the use of the TPM to help product shared data that is typically communicated over networks in manufacturing and other organizations. Historically, both devices and networks have been insecure, leading to data theft and loss and potential attacks.
In the demo, TPM, which are security chips, identify computers, routers and machines and control access to them. TPMs enable secure authentication; once authentication is completed, information can be shared securely via networks.
