Our Core Technologies & Standards

View all Technologies

Block Integrated Trust (BIT)

Brings trusted computing principles to block-level storage, enabling integrity, attestation, and protection of data blocks at the device layer.

Cyber Resilient Technologies (CyRes)

TCG's cyber-resilience technology for protecting persistent code, detecting unexpected states, and recovering platforms to a known trusted state.

Device Identifier Composition Engine (DICE)

Device Identifier Composition Engine establishes a unique cryptographic identity for resource-constrained devices and IoT systems with minimal hardware.

Platform Certificates

TCG's provenance artifacts asserting Roots of Trust, Trusted Building Blocks, and component composition for supply-chain assurance and attestation appraisal.

Reference Integrity Manifest (RIM)

Signed, machine-readable reference measurements used to verify a device boots and runs in its expected, trusted state.

Storage Security

TCG's architecture for interoperable security on trusted storage devices: self-encrypting drives, access control, locking, and Opal, Ruby, and Opalite classes.

TPM Software Stack (TSS)

A consistent software interface that lets applications and operating systems interact with TPM hardware across vendors, architectures, and platforms.

Trusted Platform Module (TPM)

Hardware-based root of trust that securely generates and stores cryptographic keys, attesting to the integrity of the platform it runs on.

Storage Visions Conference

Published:
Jan 1, 20163 mins read

The Storage Visions Conference, January 4 & 5, 2016 at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas will include a keynote talk by Barbara Murphy, from HGST on Elastic Storage and Active Archives. The conference theme is: Storage for the Next 5,000 Years (inspired by the Egyptian motifs at the Luxor Hotel). The conference agenda can be seen here.

Barbara Murphy is the vice president of marketing for the Cloud Infrastructure Business Unit at HGST. With a mission to help organizations harness the power of data to unlock greater business potential, she is responsible for leading the global marketing efforts for HGST’s portfolio of innovative technology, platforms, converged systems and solutions to drive growth and success for HGST, its partners and end users.

Murphy brings 20 years of marketing leadership in OEM and channel marketing for both private and public companies. Most recently she consulted with several early stage cloud and hyperscale converged storage startups. Prior to that, she was the chief marketing officer for Panasas, a provider of high performance scale-out storage systems. Murphy also served as a senior vice president and general manager for Applied Micro Circuits Corporation’s (AMCC) Storage Division. Prior to that, she was vice president of marketing at 3ware, Inc., a privately held storage company, that was later acquired by AMCC. Before joining 3ware, Murphy spent seven years in various marketing management roles at Adaptec in the areas of product management, product marketing, and OEM and channel development. Earlier in her career, Murphy held a number of marketing and engineering roles in the data communications industry with British Telecom and GEC Plessey.

Barbara’s talk is called “Keep Your Data Active” and will discuss the challenges of data at scale and demonstrate the benefits of a centralized repository for analytics. She will show how end users can streamline their storage footprint and turn their organization's data assets into competitive knowledge. This will be demonstrated with real-world customer case studies showing backup and archive demands using the HGST Active Archive System.

Sponsors and exhibitors at the 2016 Storage Visions Conference are Academic-Industry Partnership, Active Storage, Aspera, Backblaze, Coughlin Associates, DDN, Drive Trust Alliance, Drive Savers, Fujifilm, Intel, ProStorage, Quantum, SNIA, SNIA SSSI, Trusted Computing Group, HDDFA, RDC and WireFi. Organization and media sponsors include: Adobe Video World, Advantage Video, AVSystems, Bright Blue Innovation, Broadcast Beat, Consultants Network of Silicon Valley, Coughlin Associates, Davis Consulting Asia, DCIA, Digital Cinema Society, Digital Production Buzz, Drive Trust Alliance, Entertainment Storage Alliance, Ethernet Alliance, Flash Memory Summit, HDDFA, HomeToys, IBTA, SCV IEEE Consumer Electronics Society, IT Central Station, Media and Entertainment Tech, NexGen Cloud, Objective Analysis, Parks Associates, Postperspective.com, ProductionHUB, RDC, St. Petersburg Univ. of Film & Television, SATA-IO, SMPTE, SNIA, SNIA SSSI, storagesearch.com, TechTarget, The Shindler Perspective, The Channel Company, VegasTechShows and Women in Technology International.
