The TCG Certification Program Framework
The Trusted Computing Group (TCG) now offers the TPM Certification Program. The TCG has created this program to promote consistent quality among products built to the TCG specifications and to provide a useful tool to assist customers in verifying security and functional compliance of products built to TCG specifications. The TPM 1.2 specification has been chosen by the TCG Board of Directors as a target for this first TCG Certification Program. More TCG Certification Programs may be introduced in the future.
TPM Certification Program
The TCG’s TPM Certification Program is being set up for TCG members to demonstrate that TPM 1.2 products meet a set of Compliance and Security Evaluation requirements that were developed based on TCG member input. TPM products that go through this certification program successfully will be listed on a TCG Certified Products list which will be published on this website.
The certification requirements for a member’s TPM 1.2 product to achieve TCG Certification include:
- Compliance testing
Functional testing will be performed by TCG members themselves using TCG-developed automated Compliance Test Suites, according to a test plan documented by the TCG. The TCG will verify that the test suite results indicate that the product passed the tests, but will not perform actual validation of the test suite execution against the product itself. Compliance Test Suites will be available to TCG members to validate compliance of products against the TCG Specifications.
- Security Evaluation
TCG members will be required to demonstrate successful Common Criteria certification of their TPM 1.2 product, at EAL4+ Moderate, according to the PC Client TPM 1.2 Protection Profile developed by the TCG.
The Certification Program Committee has made the below documents available to the public for their education and to increase customer comfort in the procedures and principles used to develop each program. Please feel free to contact [email protected] for more information.
