2023 Frank Molsberry Distinguished Service Award

SHIVA DASARI, HPE

Shiva Dasari is a Senior Distinguished Technologist and the Chief Infrastructure Security Architect in the Office of the CTO at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). He leads infrastructure security architecture for HPE products, including Servers.

Shiva has been playing an active role in the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) Board and Technical Committee for over ten years. He chairs the TCG Server work group and co-chairs the TCG Vulnerability Response Board Subcommittee. He is an active contributor to many TCG specifications. He was also a contributor to NIST publications, including SP800-193. In addition to infrastructure security architecture, he is a thought leader in Secure Development Lifecycle, Supply Chain Security, Signing Server Infrastructure, Product Security Incident Response, and Security Certification processes.

Prior to HPE, Shiva served as the Security CTO for Lenovo’s Enterprise Business Group. Preceding the IBM System x acquisition by Lenovo, Shiva worked at IBM for over 18 years in the x86 server development in various roles, including the Chief Security Architect of System x & Flex Servers. He was responsible for the security architecture, strategy, and roadmap of IBM System x & Flex servers. Shiva was the driving force in making TPM shipped as a standard component in IBM x86 servers, which significantly accelerated its penetration into the server ecosystem. Shiva pioneered architecting and delivering an industry-leading solution for securing IBM’s BMC called Integrated Management Modules (IMM) using security innovation in conjunction with TCG technologies.

Shiva has over 40 patents in Security, Server Architecture, Memory, PCI, and Processor Architecture. Shiva holds a master’s degree in software systems. He is also a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), and Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA).

2023 Leadership Award

JEFF ANDERSEN, GOOGLE

Jeff Andersen works on hyperscaler platform integrity solutions at Google, working to close the gap between Google’s custom security solutions and industry standards, in areas related to cryptographic sealing, remote attestation, confidential compute, and supply-chain integrity. In addition, he co-leads the Security project at OCP, and co-chairs the Data Center Workgroup at TCG. Jeff is a lead contributor to the Caliptra open-source root of trust project with ChipsAlliance, and has contributed to security standards across NIST, TCG, OCP, and DMTF.

2023 Key Contributors

TORU TOMITA, CYBER DEFENSE INSTITUTE, INC.

Toru is currently engaged in research on supply chain security, remote attestation and hardware-based security. In the realm of supply chain security, he, along with fellow members, has made significant contributions by ensuring that the TCG Platform Certificate, a crucial technology for supply chain security, is compatible with OpenSSL. This was achieved by implementing the RFC5755’s Attribution Certificate. As a testament to his commitment to the field, the code he contributed to OpenSSL has been incorporated as a standard feature, enabling individuals to easily verify the origin of devices.

Over the past few years, Toru has been an active participant in the JRF-hosted workshops. He has consistently delivered technical presentations on the practical applications and benefits of TCG technologies, such as TPM, fostering a broader understanding and adoption of these technologies.

In his professional capacity, Toru serves at the Cyber Defense Institute, Inc., where he leads the Offensive Security Group.

THEO KOULOURIS, HPE

Theo is a Security Architect in the Office of the CTO at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. He works at the intersection of hardware and software to develop technologies and techniques that enhance the security of HPE products and infrastructure, with a focus on platform, fabric and firmware security. He is a core contributor to the DMTF SPDM standard (for which he has been awarded the DMTF Star Award twice) and the Trusted Computing Group, where he recently became the editor of the Platform Certificate Profile specification.

Theo has previously worked on Operating System security research as well as SDN and NFV security applications. Theo holds a Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from University College London and a BEng in Telecommunications from Queen Mary, University of London. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
