As a best practice, map user identity with the device identity so that you can keep tabs on who is using what on your network and use NAC enforcement with iAM- based policies. Specifically, look to the TNC IF-MAP as an open source protocol that is aimed at centralizing this identity policy. Moreover, organizations that have a hybrid infrastructure with firewalls, iPS, SiM, and UtM devices will find it useful to centralize the events, threats, and policies in a metadata database.”
