2011 Storage Visions
The theme of the 2011 Storage Visions Conference was New Dimensions Drive Digital Storage. This theme recognized the role that increasing content resolution and stereoscopic content will play in driving demand for content and storage devices that support making, distributing, using and saving that content. Demand for storage is high for all content applications and strong reports are out for storage system, HDD and many flash memory manufacturers.
Michael Willett, Samsung, Aidan Herbert, Wave Systems and Scott Wright, Toshiba spoke on Finding, Protecting and Using Content. This session explored the latest developments in content indexing and searching, including automated metadata generation. It also examined the role digital storage will play in providing greater privacy protection.
