Supporters of the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) Trusted Network Connect (TNC) Architecture Test Products
Recently, a number of vendors who have implemented or are working to implement the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) Trusted Network Connect (TNC) network security architecture. This spring's testing event, or plugfest as it is known informally, was hosted at Germany's Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology. The Fraunhofer team has long been active in helping develop and implement TNC.
This year's testing was focused on the increasingly implemented IF-MAP protocol. IF-MAP is the Metadata Access Point, created by the TCG TNC work group, used by security hardware and software products, regardless of the vendor, to exchange information via an internal database. The resulting intelligence then can be used for policy decisions, for example.
Some fifty test runs were carried out during the event with some 20 implementations tested among various vendors. Some companies were testing to qualify for TNC certification.
Learn more about the event and testing in a news release issued by Fraunhofer.
