Open Source Trusted Computing Resources
In the last week, we learned that David Mattes, who participates in TCG's TNC work group, has released an open source IF-MAP 1.1 (metadata access protocol) server called omapd! The work was done in his personal time, so it was released with personal copyright under the GPLv3 license and is hosted on Google Project Hosting at http://code.google.com/p/omapd/.
Also this week, we see that the open source implementation of TCG Trusted Software Stack (TSS) has been updated. TrouSerS is available for review and download here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/trousers/.
Other projects include:
- Support for the TNC IF-MAP, or metadata access protocol, located at http://open-ifmap.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/open-ifmap/open-ifmap/
- A number of projects from University of Hannover, Germany, supporting Trusted Network Connect, at http://trust.inform.fh-hannover.de/
- Trusted Boot (tboot), an open source, pre- kernel/VMM module that uses Intel(R) Trusted Execution Technology (Intel(R) TXT) to perform a measured and verified launch of an OS kernel/VMM
- OpenTC project, http://www.opentc.net/, a European Union-Funded Open TC Research & Development Project
